About.Following the School mission and Philosophy, the FLL teams are part of the STEM program.
STEM Education attempts to transform the typical teacher-centered classroom by encouraging a curriculum that is driven by problem-solving, discovery, exploratory learning, and requires students to actively engage in a situation in order to find its solution. |
WeDo 2.0The WeDo 2.0 team works with the Lego WeDo and Boost robotics kits. Members are from K to 4th grade and they work on the different challenges presented by the FLL organization.
ASCS hosted its first WeDo 2.0 fair in 2018 inviting other schools with similar programs. |
EV3 MindstormStarting with an EV3 club to provide basic concepts of design and programming, any student from 4th to 8th grade can join and play.
Our Seniors Team came together with the Animal Allies challenge. We did not participate in a tournament, but learned about how to work on missions and programming. For the 2017 Hydrodynamics challenge, the team worked on the three components: Core Value, Project and Robot. We had our first competition at the Backyard Blizzard Tournament in November 2017. |
